I went from casually dropping everything onto my nightstand in it’s designated spot to actually being able to store things neatly. There is a great cut out on the size for pens, and another area for jewelry or cuff links. well thought out - but again, a tad small for today's user. Overall, well made, looks nice, can fit almost everything
