My kids dropped the old remote far too many times, and being made of aluminum, it dented and the IR piece in the front broke. I wish I had bought this from the start. Why didn't I? because I thought it would make it bulkier. Sure it's a little wider, but feels pretty good in the hand, and the weight difference is negligible.
