Sie wchst sehr flach, fast anliegend, und bildet dichte, wintergrne Polster, die auch ohne Blte sauber wirken. Im Alter knnen die Polster erstaunlich breit werden, ohne dabei locker zu werden. Ab Ende April bis in den Mai hinein sitzen die krftig rosa Blten nahezu auf dem Polster, kurz gestielt, nah am Laub, und dadurch wirkt der Flor besonders kompakt.
