Collectors have dubbed these wartime Leicas as "steppers" due to the raised area beneath the rewind lever a feature only seen on these cameras produced from March 1940 to June 1946. This particular example bears the serial number of "385476", dating its production from 1941 to 1942. It is one of just 20,550 Leica IIIcs
