Earrings: Leaf CapizHandcrafted by artisans in the Philippines, these earrings of wafer thin leaf motif pieces are made from capiz, the thin shell of a marine mollusk. First artisans wash and soak shells. After the shells have dried, they are cut into shapes and edged with metal wire. A finishing coat of varnish completes this labor intensive process. tbh, they are a little bigger then I expected. seems like a lot of people claimed they fit small, so I ordered a size up and they are a little more loose then I’d normally want. the material is slightly different, maybe a bit more stiff, but still pretty comfortable for the price. I’d order them again.
