It has a crack on the side of the lid. It is dirty with remnants of soap. I've seen this container (in aluminum and Bakelite) frequently ground dug from Russia and around Europe.

Great clutch! It is just as pictured and a perfect size because it holds my phone, glasses and lipstick with room to spare. The straps that came with it are easy to remove and detach from the inside, which is great because it doesn’t have the rings or other attachments which most have that show.
